Hathaway shareholder set to approve the 50-1 stock split on

Berkshire Hathaway's stock split.
November 3rd, 2009, the Berkshire Hathaway
Board of Directors approved the acquisition of Burlington
Northern Railroad and a 50 for 1 split of
the Class B stock. The new affordability
resulting from the proposed 50 for 1 split is what prompted
GiveAshare.com to start offering this iconic company.
Currently, the Class B stock
trades at well over $3000 until shareholders
approve the split (which is expected in January
2010).
What we are selling is the post-split stock
which will reflect the 50 for 1 split and can be
delivered after shareholder approval.
An interesting update from
gurufocus.com says that the Berkshire board wants to split
the shares regardless of whether the BNI merger is approved and
that it is virtually a certainty because Warren Buffett wants
the split and he owns over 36% of the company.
Nice
little tidbit: The Berkshire Hathaway stock
certificate has the printed signature of
legendary investor and CEO Warren Buffett.
