Whoops, Wrong Snap Stock!

Snapchat’s (now called Snap Inc.) IPO hasn’t happened yet but that hasn’t stopped confused investors from buying, even if it’s the wrong stock.

Bloomberg reports that investors have been snapping up Snap Interactive (ticker STVI) thinking they are buying Snap Inc. (ticker SNAP), Snapchats new company name. Snap Interactive is a small mobile dating app firm that has nothing to do with Snapchat.

Snap Interactive’s trading volume and stock price have soared since Snap Inc. filed for its IPO.

Lesson learned: Pay attention.
